THE POLICE AND NEWS helicopters above Atwater Village since 4:00am have been circling an early-morning crackdown on the Drew Street gang in the neighboring northeast LA neighborhood of Glassell Park.CBS2 this morning shows local and federal law enforcement surrounding apartment buildings between Forest Lawn cemetery and the 2 freeway, serving warrants on suspected members of "a splinter group of the larger Avenues gang that has been linked to numerous and violent crimes in the area."
