ANOTHER CASUALTY of the recession, perhaps, is the Under the Table store, 3139 Glendale Blvd., part of Black Maria Gallery next door. The Franklin Avenue blog reports 50% off of Under the Table merchandise "while it lasts." No word on the economic health of Black Maria Gallery itself, but the neighborhood hasn't been kind lately to other art galleries. (See LittleBird Gallery and Pounder Kone Art Space.)

Looks like the inimitable casket store is about to bite the dust (sorry) soon, too, as there's a "for lease" sign on the building, which I assume refers to the building and not its contents.
