The Westside's Alias Books on Sawtelle Boulevard is expanding, opening a second location in Atwater Village, the store announced today. Expected to be open by May 1st, the store will emphasize its collection on film, literature and the arts. "Even in the age of the Kindle there's no substitute for holding a book in your hand and flipping through the pages," said Co-owner Patrick Paeper. Alias Books East will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. The address seems one door off, doesn't it? The neighboring property, 3161 Glendale Blvd., has been undergoing construction lately. Perhaps it's adjoining space and the bookstore will use 3163 as its street number. Stay tuned.

Awesome!! My favorite kind of store featuring my favorite kind of books!
And, uh, also great for the neighborhood.
I always wondered what "salt" was. Do you know? Anyway, a fabulous addition. Have art exhibits, offer coffee, make it about being there. I'v worked in local bookstores in the digital era and you have got to make it about the place and the community. Good luck to them!
Hi Miles! I believe Salt was an art space like the old Strato next to what used to be Nonni and is now Canele.
