Village Bakery & Cafe Opens in Old LA Bread Space

NOW OPEN: The Village Bakery and Cafe opened its doors this week in the former L.A. Bread space, 3119 Los Feliz Blvd. Helmed by the founding co-owner/pastry chef at Eagle Rock's Auntie Em's Kitchen, this new breakfast and lunch spot in Atwater Village promises to be a richer, nicer cousin of the building's former occupant. I stopped by yesterday for the decadent Thanksgiving on a Bun: turkey, stuffing, cranberries, gravy on the side. Huge. With a salad. For $8.95.

The Village Bakery will still bake and serve the same breads as LA Bread, but pastries and cafe items are now made daily from scratch. Signs and paint went up this week. The Village Bakery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Sundays, 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Sounds promising! Another reason to miss the old 'hood. Finally left Atwater last month after 5 mostly excellent years. I look forward to keeping up to date here, though!

Had breakfast here last weekend! I can't awit to return!!! SOOOO good!!! We had the veg. scramble and the Brian's special (minus the baco). So fresh and tasty! Their complimentary breads are to die for as well...I am in no way affiliated, just a new fan!

Early this morning Chelsea brought our staff at Community Parnters an assortment of your baked goods. I chose half a still warm banana muffin. That was the single most delicious muffin I have had in my adult life, bar none, hands down. Thank you. I'm a new addict!
