What About Public Art in Atwater Village?

THE FOLKS AT ForYourArt.com, an event producer and public relations firm, have a fine start on mapping the locations of pieces of public art in Los Angeles. No surprise, most public art is displayed in downtown and west of the 101. But don't we have a few mapworthy art pieces right here in northeast Los Angeles? Though not quite the scale of LACMAs Urban Lightinstallation, we have Lopez Automotive's Muffler Men installation. And while Chinatown enjoys the Gate of Filial Piety, Atwater Villagers get to pass through the Great Heron Gate.
