CHEF KAREN YOO, formerly of Campanile and Sona, and soon to be of L'Ami Restaurant, emails a pickle.First thought: There may be at least 5 retail spaces suddenly opening up along Glendale Blvd., now that LA City Council has denied applications for our neighborhood marijuana dispensaries. Would growlights be at all helpful with your Market Vegetable Salad?"My husband and I have been on the hunt for a restaurant space in these areas for the last 6 months, we moved to this side of town recently and we really love it. Since you seem so connected to the area, I figured I would email and see if you might have any inside scoops on available restaurant spaces that we haven't heard of. If you know of anything and feel like sharing please email me, any information would be appreciated." Other suggestions, dear readers? Comment, email, I'll pass them along. |

I think they're trying to sell/lease the Town & Country Bakery space on Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake, also a space in the Rambutan minimall.
Not sure about Atwater though.
How about a little further east, into Adams Hill? Tell em they could be a part of the burgeoning Glendale food scene!
It would be a wonderful addition to Atwater Village to have another great restaurant. It's just what Atwater needs to keep moving in the right direction. I'm doing some deep research for you. Don't even think of going to Silverlake! They have enough restaurants.
It's not vacant so I should just shaddup, but you know what would be a great place? There's a brick building with a nice adjacent parking lot on the north side of Glendale Boulevard at the base of the Hyperion Bridge, right here.
Or we can find a vacancy on that stretch of Silver Lake Boulevard in Atwater Village just to make nicecupotea go harumph.
What about where the old CVS pharmacy used to be on Glendale, near the pilates place and the Wells Fargo? That's a big spot, and there's a pay lot just behind it!
There are several spaces in Atwater Village that would probably be great for a new restaurant. What a joy to have another great addition to the neighborhood. We wish you lots of luck - you'll be pleasantly surprised how many of us want more good places to eat around here. There are a lot of us that like to walk over to the main part of Atwater Village from our homes.
How about the old nudie bar on Fletcher near Riverside. They just gutted the place, it's huge and it's for lease.
If you're looking for places already w/code-compliant kitchens, etc. there are several empty spots in Glendale. We'd very much support bistro-ish food in the area.
How about the old Coldstone Creamery spot?
What about Seeley's at the corner of Brand and Glendale?
