Juan Manuel Alvarez: 11 Consecutive Life Terms

HOT OFF THE LA Times Web site:
A gasp filled a downtown Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday as a judge sentenced a former Compton laborer to 11 consecutive life prison terms for triggering a commuter train crash [at the Chevy Chase Drive crossing in Atwater Village] that killed 11 people, deadliest train crash in Metrolink's history.

The latest LA train crash is terrible, but is it more than a coincidence that this horrible tragedy was only a few weeks after Juan Manuel Alvarez's life term for a very similar tragedy in Los Angeles in 2005? Mr. Alvarez was tied to the "Aztec Al Queda" radical group. What I can't understand is why no one is reporting this and investigating?
