What I've always wondered (going waaaaay back to my days in the early 1990s as the Sparkletts guy in AV) is why Silver Lake Boulevard continues through there. Being that it's on the other side of the river and so relatively far away from where SLB ends at Fletcher where the Astro diner is you'd think it would have been named something else.
Ages ago, Silver Lake Blvd was supposed to go across and be the main thoroughfare but Fletcher and Glendale were chosen instead. Its why you have Vinces and the old market jet a few blocks south (does it even exist anymore?) because they were originally zoned as commercial waaaay back.
I used to go to Vince's growing up and it brings back so many memories for me. There was a time that it was in big financial trouble a while back. The owner is really lenient with the customers and let people shop and gave some discounts and what not. I just pray that no tagger messes up the mural. The place is owned by good people and they deserve more than that.

Yeah, that corner and corners near by, played host to a lot of local businesses.
