My question is: will it really prevent the donuts? You can still see the donut tire marks in the in intersection, with a comfortable margin from the new round-edged triangle. Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteThe triangle will prevent donuts because a car won't be able to gather up the speed to do a proper donut while avoiding the triangle. The city did extensive research on this corner, and they're confident that this is a safe and cost-effective and life-saving project.

ReplyDeleteRE: Doughnuts. The original design went into the intersection about 3 feet deeper. Don't know how it got shorter. Still, the intersection will be safer I think.
RE: The gap. It's actually for drainage, but I like the bike idea!
Haha... i rode through the gap on my bike and i thought... "cool !"... but yea it would make sense that it used for drainage !
